Ike:

I've sold more books than I've published, but Bill, the Galactic Hero: The Final Incoherent Adventure (with Harry Harrison) was published by Avon Books in the U.S., and in several other countries. Democracy and Other Problems, an essay chapbook, was published by SRM, Publishers. Assorted poems and stories have appeared elsewhere.

I was an agent with the Scott Meredith Literary Agency in the Seventies. Among the people on my list were Norman Mailer, Arthur C. Clarke, Harry Kemelman, Philip K. Dick, and P. G. Wodehouse, although as a junior agent I didn't do a lot of the heavy lifting for Norman and Arthur. Nearly everyone who was on my list then is dead now.

Thrilled to see ratsass in print in addition to routinely falling out of my mouth. Wished I still smoked and drank -- your guidelines triggered all the old great appetites. Here here!

The name attracted me, since I've got my bub (pet rat) Willie in front of me right now...I like honesty (in a Sargasso sea of layered lies)...so, thanks for that (since you are a writer - why "insulting" as one of the 3 rejection letters? Aren't we writers/poets up against enough without turning on one another? Doesn't "Regular" doing the insulting? I mean, to have NOTHING
said about work you've slaved over without recognition - isn't THAT "insult" enough?
Please pass along to your artist how wonderful we 3 rat-fanciers here love her renditions of scribe-rat - it will be going on the wall, so it can be enoyed constantly. (Willie Spuzzums was less impressed: another depiction of us as nasty lunatics with a chip!) Knowing pet rats (bubs - new word: check URBAN DICTIONARY) - many do have "chips" and a few are "lunatics" and I have met at least one who was "nasty" - but, I digress!
BEST OF KARMA, etc. to YOU on this endeavor! Wheeee.......!

So you are a writer and agent, David. What are the titles of your books? What agency did you work for? Who did you represent?

They are listed at the bottom of the page, but it's worth mentioning again. The site was designed and built by Joanne Merriam, and the rats were created by John Pierard. I thank them both for their work, and can put you in touch if you have paying jobs for them.
